I purchased an xb360 from target in oct,2011 with a 2 year replacement warranty. in july , 2012 the xbox went bad.

I went to target for a replacemnt and was told that target would not honor the replacement . their policy was to have the consumer send the unit back to microsoft within the first year for repair. they are really selling a 1 year extension warranty and even after the first year they will still not replace the unit, but want it sent in to their repair service.

Best Buy does sell a replacement warranty and will actually replace the unit at the store. my advice, stay away from target for electronic purchses.

YES, YOU ARE CORRECT. MY FAULT FOR TRUSTING THE SALES PERSONS PRESENTATION.

I SHOULD HAVE READ THE SMALL PRINT IN THE 5 PAGE PAMPHLET AND IGNORED THE LARGE PRINT ON THE FACE OF SAME.

MY APOLOGIES FOR BEING *** AND NOT QUESTIONING THE VERACITY OF ANYONE AND EVERYTHING. MY APOLOGIES FOR WASTING YOUR TIME.

it clearly states that you don't bring it to the store; you send it out to a 3rd party company &they will either fix it for you or send you a gift card for the purchase price so you can REPLACE the system that failed. sorry your reading comprehension isn't so great.

yeah, ***, it's a replacement after Microsoft's warranty. your fault for not learning about it before saying yes.

instead of crying, contact them already.

and Anonymous, okay then.

so what have you accomplished today, or even this whole year? sorry, dreaming of how you can destroy Target doesn't count.

All the Target lovers ignore the fact that the warranty says "replacement". :(

They will defend Target no matter what the facts are. :p :p

NO, THEY ARE SELLING IT AS A REPLACEMENT, WHICH BEST BUY ALSO SELLS AND ACTUALLY DOES REPLACE THE UNITS. YES, THE FINE PRINT DOES SHOW THAT MICROSOFT WILL WARRANTY THE FIRST YEAR, BUT THE LARGE PRINT SPECIFICALLY STATES REPLACEMENT, NO HASSLES, CONVENIENT, 2 YEARS BY TARGET.....MOST CERTAINLY DECEPTIVE. BEWARE!

Except the first year falls under the MS warranty. The second year is the replacement for Target.

no, replacement means replacement, not a warranty extension which it turned out to be.

some stores operate differently. you have to realize that they can't repair your Xbox in the store.

and you bought a replacement plan that starts after the manufacturer's warranty. so it was still under Microsoft.

plain and simple.

and Anonymous, Target told him what he had to do. you're just too f**king dumb to look past your cry baby experience and realize the difference between good, bad and really bad complaints.

Gertzfeld - I completely agree with you and will take your warning one step further.

Stay away from Target for any purchase for which you may need follow up service.

:)

Target doesn't offer customer service should you encounter a problem with any purchase you make there. 8)
