I received a Target gift card from my aunt for my birthday. I went to use it a few days later, and the gift card would not scan.

After a manager was called and also tried I was told to contact the Target gift card department on the back of the card. I tried it at another Target thinking it was just a fluke. The same thing happened and I was referred to customer service. I was told there were numbers missing and to contact the gift card department.

When I contacted the gift card department, I was told there was nothing I can do if I did not have the receipt. The gift card was useless and they refused to resolve the problem. It was a defective card, and they refused to issue a new one; even thought it was completely their fault!

I am never shopping at Target again! They lost a loyal customer!
