This was forward to me by a friend, just thought the Rest of The World should know.

Target Stores - What a surprise!

Wasn't it last Christmas that Target refused to let the Salvation Army ring their bells in front of their stores?

*** Forrey of the Vietnam Veterans Association wrote.

'Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud

Sponsor of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall during our

Spring recognition event.

We received the following reply

From the local TARGET management:

' Veterans do not meet our

Area of giving. We only donate to the arts, social action

Groups, *** & *** causes, and education.'

So I'm thinking, if the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall and

Veterans in general, do not meet their donation criteria,

Then something is really wrong at this TARGET store.

We were

Not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just

A small sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.

As a follow-up, I, E-mailed the TARGET U.S. Corporate

Headquarters and their response was the same...

That's their

National policy

ALSO , I do wonder if this story applies in Canada, the U.K. and N.Z.

I looked into the company further..

They will not allow

The Marines to collect for 'Toys for Tots'at any of their

Stores. And during the recent Iraq deployment, they would

Not allow families of employees who were called up for

Active duty to continue their insurance coverage while

They were on military service..

Then as I dig further,

Now, I'm thinking again.. If TARGET cannot support American or Aussie Veterans, then why should my family and I support their stores by spending our hard earned

American (or Aussie) dollars in their stores???

And, Have their profits sent to France .

Without the American (and Aussie) Vets, where would France be today?

'They, most likely would be speaking German and trading in Deutsch Marks'

Yea! My wife went to Target in Alban Ga.

I don't like to shop so sat down at the coffee shop and played O Holy Night. Next thing you know the manager ask me not to play. I play at TJ Mac and the shopping mall all the time. We will never go back to Targets.

I do not play for money. I am 67 years old and retired.

I play for sure enjoyment. So what is wrong with the Target Store?

Complete nonsense. French owned?

Seriously dude, Google is your friend.

Check This falls under the "Pepsi left out under God on their cans" territory. :roll :roll

I've seen the bell ringers in front of my local Target for many years, so this doesn't apply to every store. They're such a friendly bunch!

Also, no one should have to support every charitable organization whether it be kids, military, or that one sick kid down the block. That's impossible. Every store or person has a right to support whomever they wish in however they want.

Finally, Target isn't French owned. No seriously, it isn't. Never has been, never will be. It's not even funny to even think it, and in fact, it's quite insulting to them and everyone in this nation if you do.

corporate greed. Ceo is making the big bucks Gregg Steinhafel has been paid $64.34 million over three years donations for the VETS that allow him to make the big bucks NOT!!!
