On October 10, 2016 I finally received a Proof of Purchase declaration in my email from Target. Why this took so long and why I had to go through so many different customer service people - I don't know.

I'm just very happy that this simple problem was finally resolved. Thank you, Target.

On September 17, 2016 I bought a vacuum cleaner at Target.com, I also purchased their 2 year buyer protection plan. When I bought it I chose to have it delivered to the store (Oxford Valley, PA) where I could pick it up the same day.

Within 2 hours they sent me an email saying the vacuum could be picked up. I went to Target and picked up the vacuum, they did not give me a receipt but told me that one would be emailed to me within 24 hours. No receipt ever was emailed to me (yes, I checked my SPAM folder and my Trash folder - no receipt). So I went back to Target.com where I was instructed to go to My Order page and click on a link that said "Print Receipt" - there was no such link on My Order page.

So I went to their Chat customer support. They told me they were unable to send a receipt through the Chat link. They did send me a "Details of Your Order" email. They also gave me a customer service number to call where they said it would be taken care of.

I tried the number, spoke to someone named "Angel" who was very hard to understand and didn't seem to know what to do. He said he would transfer me to someone who could help. I than listened to a ringing phone for 5 minutes and than was abruptly hung up on with no one ever answering the phone. I called back and got someone named Lucy or Lucia - she said, no problem, I'll email you a receipt - that receipt never arrived either (and yes, she confirmed my email address 3 times.).

Went back to chat support where they told me if I go to the Target store they can give me a receipt. So this weekend I will have to go to the Target store to try to get a receipt - I doubt that it will work. The vacuum itself is fine but if anything should go wrong with it I will need a receipt in order to use the Protection Plan. So I really need my receipt and I just don't think anyone should have to go through hoops of fire to get one.

Of course I really feel I'll never be able to buy anything from Target Online again.

I doubt I'll ever even shop at Target again - their customer support was terrible. I expected more and I got less - that is how I feel.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Target Cons: Bad and unhelpful customer service.

Location: Langhorne, Pennsylvania
