On December 01,2007 I purchased a pre-lit Christmas tree at Target for $179.99 (regular price $199.99). On December 08,2007, Target put the same tree on CLEARANCE for $139.99. I still had the receipt

so I went to Guest Services to get a price match and was told that because the tree was Clearanced and it was out of season. Out of season? It was December 8th. Eighteen shopping days left to CHRISTMAS! I was told that this was there policy and that I could write to Santa or to whoever else and they still were not going to give me any money back!

This an unfair policy and you never when you are going to get screwed! There were people who purchased the same tree for regular price and now arebeing more ripped off than I am!

What are you thinking? Most stores will give a credit for "sale" prices.

"Clearance" prices are another thing. At the end of the selling season stores will drastically reduce prices to clear them out and make room for the next season's merchandise.

If you want the low clearance price wait till the end of the season, of course you take the chance that the item you want won't be there. I hope you will check the price adjustment policy where you shop next, if you end up shopping where I work you will find the policy is the same--NO PRICE ADJUSTMENTS ON CLEARANCE MERCHANDISE.

Ghostbuster may be a target troll, but the child who wrote the letter has to learn that things don't always go their way.

The reason you can't get price adjustments on clearance is because all items eventually get clearanced out to 0.00$ in the system so theoretically you could get all your money back for the product and still keep it.

Any items that go on temporary sale as listed in the add you can get price matches up to 14 days with the receipt.

Next time you should just try to return the tree and recognize that there is more than meets the eye behind certain policies. people aren't intentionally tryintg to *** over.

Ghostbuster is a Target Troll. Read all the comments, he just can't wait to take up for Target.

oh grow up. Learn that things will not go your way all the time.

why didn't you just return your tree and buy a new one??
