Target - Movie pre-order screw up
I did receive the replacement order as expected very quickly. Customer service was very helpful and eager to resolve the issue.
My number one concern is if I had not been proactive I could have sit around for who knows how long waiting for my order to show up and only after a long delay find out the reason.
I can't believe they handle pre-orders at a lower priority. I was able to place a new order and receive the DVD right away as opposed to if I had waited for my pre-order it would have been delayed potential for weeks.
I pre-orded the new Star Wars Solo Blu-Ray + Digital code. I pre-ordered it 2 weeks in advance.
The day of the release 9/25/18 I get an email telling me it is on back order and won't ship until between 10/5 and 10/16. The web site was showing it available for local pickup today. Order online and pick up same day at the store. I call the store and one other in the area.
They both had plenty on hand. Online orders for shipping to my house showed 2 day shipping. Receive it by 9/27. I called customer service and they told me that yes, they had over sold the pre-orders.
If I wanted to cancel the pre-order I could place a new order and receive it in 2 days???? she told me they had plenty to ship????? The obvious question, why can't they ship one of those considering I ordered it 2 1/2 weeks ago. Sorry, pre-orders are handled different.
Wouldn't you expect the people who were excited enough about the movies release that they pre-ordered would get priority on available copies.
Bottom line, I canceled my re-order and placed a new order. Lets see if I really get it by Thursday.

I think that Target should buy up all of the remaining KMart stores and convert them into Targets.
