Ordered gift cards for christmas. Received confirmation they shipped and would be here by 22 December. They are not here. Called the 800 number and got a person who could not tell me what was happening with the cards. Per this CS rep, the cards had not even been made yet and had not shipped. I asked for a supervisor, he lost me when trying to transfer the call. I called back, went straight to a supervisor. She insisted the cards had shipped, would not address the previous information they had not even been created yet. Tried to tell me the post office needed more time to deliver. The cards, according to her, had been mailed on 15 December, one week ago. It helps to know that the post office delivers all first class mail in less than one week and the vast majority of parcels in about a week. This shipment is a first class letter or envelope: it is gift cards.

Target will not cancel the order, wants me to wait until early January to contact them again so they can be sure the cards are not activated and used. Nice idea, but if someone stole them and uses them, how does that help me?

Target claims they do not know the gift card numbers associated with my order. I wonder how they take an order, pick the cards, fill them with the requested value and somehow don't know the gift card number. Does not make any sense.

This is wrong. I should never have bought something on line from the company that had last year's most famous credit card ***. My stupidity, but their negligence.

Reason of review: no cancel, lost shpmnt.

Monetary Loss: $80.

Preferred solution: refund plus compensation time and missed christmas gift opportunity.

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Go to the store and get one. If you don't live near a Target, grocery stores, pharmacies, and whatnot will have them. Problem solved.

Because the gift card number is covered by a scratch off like a lotto ticket. When you buy a gift card online it works just like the store, they scan the card to load it and that is all.

No one looks at the gift card number because that would violate the security of the card, go figure.

So yes it makes perfect sense as to why they do not have the numbers. Which is also one of the multitude of reasons why gift cards cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.

They have the worst customer service I have ever had the misfortune of talking to. They will not tell me where my gift card is and will not refund my money.

I ordered on 12/6 and it's 12/23 and they don't know were it is.

DON'T BUY THE GIFT CARDS. I will never do business with them again.
