My wife does not have a smartphone nor will she carry one. Therefore she cannot get a 25% discount sale on certain bed sheets and certain other goods at Target.

What do you tell all the people who don't own or cant afford a smart phone? We are wiling to go the extra distance to Walmart. Who is the marketing exec designed such ridiculous plan? Really?

Perhaps customers must drive only certain cars for the discount as well? Let's extend the practice to include only white people? Who else has such a discriminatory practice?

Yesterday is the last time we will ever visit Target and in the past we have purchased much from your store. Not anymore.

Product or Service Mentioned: Target Customer Care.

Reason of review: Order processing issue.

Monetary Loss: $12.

Preferred solution: give me the dsicount without an app.

I didn't like: App discounts.

You are a total idiot. It's 2018 and about 99% of adults have smartphones.

I've even seen people in their 90's who can fully function with a smartphone who live in assisted living! It's assumed today that everyone either has a smartphone or knows someone with one. It's also false to think someone can't afford a smartphone. The "obamaphone" that low income people are eligible for if they are on social security and/or government assistance, actually give these people a FREE smartphone WITH a small amount of data!

When not on data, everyplace you go usually has FREE WIFI. Target is known to have FREE WIFI. So your complaints are invalid. You and your wife are just lazy old people who like to complain.

You are not being discriminated against. The discount offers are offered to people who choose to seek them out on the Target app.

But, go ahead and complain some more and even go "out of your way" to Walmart. I promise Target won't miss you.

It's not really discrimination. It is a marketing ploy they use to add their app to your phone if you choose to carry one.

This way they can continually send you ads.

I skip the discounts because I don't want their ads all the time. Not much different than Kohl's sending out discount coupons to people who have their credit card, They will also send more coupons to people who spend more on their card as well.

Discrimination and marketing are two very different things, OP

This is the definition of discrimination: the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex.

So exactly what proof, based on the definition of discrimination, do you have regarding this complaint of yours?

Who is the marketing exec designed such ridiculous plan? Really?

Then send a letter to their Corporate office asking this.
