Charged shipping when items stated "free shipping"

Fyi to other Target.com shoppers: Please double check your shipping charges at online checkout. I purchased 2 different items and BOTH items indicated "free shipping" in blue print. I also went over the required $50.00 minimum in order to qualify for free shipping. I ended up being charged for shipping, despite the advertisements for "free shipping". I brought this to the attention of customer service via email and have received the run-around. They have sited several reasons I was charged for shipping, all invalid. Christmas shoppers, beware of Target.com's lack of customer friendly service. I am beyond frustrated at the number of emails I have already sent to Target.com customer service.

You will receive no satisfaction from the Target corporation. They will, however, talk down to you, humiliate you, and keep your money, but they won't help you.

Good luck in resolving your issues with them.

They ran me off as a customer with their bad treatment and I hope to never, ever have to deal with them again. I hope you fare better with your dealings, but sincerely appreciate you trying to warn others about your experience.

Target.com - Missoni

Target.com is quite possibly the world's worst website. Everything that I ordered from the Missoni launch is practically canceled. I bought a set of luggage in store and bought the online exclusive 28" luggage online to complete the set. I called customer service multiple times to ensure it would not be canceled. Each time, they confirmed and promised it wouldn't be. I used the two pieces that I had which are now non returnable and received an email that the luggage I ordered online is canceled. Customer Service has absolutely no clue what is going on and is less than zero help. I tried to get an email off the website using the contact us and that part of the site is not working properly and I am directed to an OOOPS page. Go figure. Target.com is the world's worst and I will not shop online or in store ever again. Target.com is absolutely pathetic and should be embarrassed.

Sale add jokes!!! or should I say scam

Target Sunday papers came out with an advertised special - PC laptop for $197. The first 2 stores we called were already sold out. The next two stores said they had plenty of PC's. When we asked if we could have one held, they said they could not, but they assured us they had plenty in stock. Of course like idiots, we went to the Frisco store on 121/preston and upon going to the electronic department, they had just sold out.. when we pressed the salesman, he admitted they only had 3 pc's in stock. We then went to the other store, again they were sold out. They only had 4 pc's and all sold last night...No rain checks and no more PCs. This is not the first time this has occurred with advertised specials. I will never shop Target again! Want to know how Walmart became the largest retailer ... well with customer service like Target provides its not hard to understand.

On the first page of the ad it clearly states "quantities limited, no rain checks." You could have asked when they were expecting their next shipment - we have a way of looking that up on our pdas. Target policy states that we cannot hold sale items; it's first come first serve.

John N Mzy

This is a common tactic with all stores, not just Target. As for WalMart, they are well-known for doing this, plus their "customer service" is a joke nowdays.

I would recommend Meijers if there is one in your area. Never WalMart.

Embarassed to have worked for Target

After having worked for two different Targets, I would have to say that both have their fun/trying moments. However, they are both run very differently. Forget the "cookie cutter" similarity all stores are supposed to follow. When I went to school in "city A", I needed a job to support myself. So, I got a job at the local Target. It was kinda fun, until one of the GSTL's actually had the gall to tell me that, even though my shift was around 8-8.5 hours, I only got a lunch break if she felt like it. I'm glad someone turned her in, as she did this to all other team members. About one year later, we hired a new Food Ave team lead. She seemed nice enough, again, until she asked me to start closing that area (even though I was only trained on registers). Having no experience closing Food Ave, I couldn't close the area to her specifications. After receiving numerous verbal threats of being written up for not knowing what to do, she asked me if I wanted to learn how to close. Having no other choice, I had to agree. Even with VERY basic training, she expected me to know how to close the way she wanted it done. One other side note; right before I left, I began to follow a very rigorous diet, limiting my intake of certain foods. With NO training of any type in the field of medicine, she mistook my diet for anorexia. Taking this further, she threatened to write me up if I didn't eat food she made at home, and brought in. To make matters even more embarrassing, other GSTL/GSA's sided with her. To put it simply, I see NO reason to use a diet as a way to write someone up. To those who want a job here, be forewarned: either kiss *** and suck up to your team lead/ETL, or pay the price of employment with your dignity and time.

Target is run by robots!

Would not let me return or exchange a 17 dollar shirt. Tags on, not worn, no receipt. I exceeded the $70 return limit w/o reciept. Asked to speak with two managers. they were unalbe to "override" policy. Called guest relations. Two "supervisors" told me the same thing. I told them I spend thousands of dollars at their store, so I guess I am over my limit, now, too! I can't believe they have no way to make exceptions. I guess this is a result of paying with cash, being a good law-abiding citizen and not ripping off stores. What is becoming of our world? Goodbye Target, Hello WALMART.

I used to hate target but now i've read mikes comment, i will shop there now because he makes so mucch sence and likes our ugly faces. My mind is changed about how bad target really is.

Guest

If you don't like Target then go to wal mart I work at Target and I get paid by the hour and I could care less if you shop there or not I'm sooooo sick of losers who think they are hot stuff and come in there to hassle me day in and day out over the dumbest things ever who think they are better than me,who think they can shove me around and all I can do is keep my mouth shut. So, go to wal mart so Target doesn't have to see all of your ugly faces.

Guest

So, why exactly do you think that places like Target give you a receipt? It isn't because they hate trees.

Seriously, you returned $70 worth of stuff, without a receipt and not purchased on the redcard that you claim to have, and you wanted to return even more. Yeah, Target isn't "run by robots", it just isn't a library either.

John N Mzy

You won't like WalMart any better, perhaps much worse. WalMart has crippled and/or mentally retarded people at the door; inept and downright *** people in the departments; and a minimal number of checkout lanes open.

Oh, and their service desk usually has long lines with but one employee all tatooed and metalized trying to "help" customers.

Good luck. Try Meijer if you have one in your area.

First/Last Time ordering from Target.com

I posted a review & it was deleted. I purchased an iron on Sept. 16, 11'. Received e-mail from paypal, not Target so I called on Sept. 28 and was told the payment was pending and it was paypal's fault (false). Tried to reorder & they said it was out of stock. I called on Sept. 29 & the price had gone up approx. $5. Asked for supervisor & had a long wait, I hung up. There's a 20mins. wait each time you call. Callers act like they can't understand you or find your info. I ordered from another co.

Would not give me the sale price

I went to target to buy chair covers that were 75% off. They agreed that the product was indeed on clearance but since the register only rung up 50%off the manager Asia told me she could not adjust the price and for me to take it at 50%off or leave the chair covers in the store.I told her I needed the number for corporate and she said she didn't, have it . How are you a manager and you don't have the corporate number. The she said she was giving me 25%off the total price and I should be happy with that cause she didn't have to do that and told me to have a nice night

Well, what have we learned here? Partners make you happy, and not having a sack makes you jealous!

Guest

My mistake you probably do have a partner and I'm sure being with you makes him the happiest cowboy in the world.

Guest

Nah, thanks anyway. Unlike you, I have a partner for that, and I'm pretty satisfied.

Try it, you'll be amazed when there are two people involved.

Dude, you don't have any - get over it!

clearance prices also vary from store to store - an item 75% at one target could be 50% at another. online prices also differ from in-store.

it's always best to call ahead and ask, or have a team member call another store for you to verify their clearance price on the item. @anonymous, target is not trying to cheat people out of their money.

it's *** like you who don't know how to read, don't ask the right questions and then cry about not getting your way. :cry :cry

Guest

Anonymous you are a loser. Get over it. :cry

Guest

I am in agreement with lol. Lazy guests like to walk around the store and put random items in spots they don't belong (frozen foods in clothing sections and so forth). Even if you see some thing on a clearance endcap, shelf, etc., does not mean that's what the price is and you must look for the red clearance sticker to verify it.

Guest

Shut up anonymous, you *** retard ***-g-o-t-t!

Guest

You were shopping for an iten @ 75% off and that's what you wanted to pay. I stand in agreement with you; you don't have to get over anything except shopping at Target.

They do this kind of thing often enough that everyone should be warned. What you see advertised at Target is not what you will get at the register. People needed to be warned about Target and you were kind enough to post the warning.

If other people don't like reading your warnings, they need to get over it. :cry

TARGETS RETURN POLICY & CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!

Don't EVER shop at Target! Their return policy is TERRIBLE!!! You must have the reciept no matter what (even if the Target logo is on the tag) & they try to tell you that you can only exchange the item for another item in the same department (clothes for clothes, household goods for household goods etc. I lost my reciept for a shirt I bought & never wore. Still had the tags on it & I found my reciept mixed in with some old papers but it was 1 week past their 90day return policy. I tried it anyway & they were unwilling to work with me. Not even a gift card. Over $18! You've GOT to be kidding me! They don't care about their customers. I'll stick with places like Khols & Walmart who have good return policies.

I agree that you should be required to bring the receipt when you want to return something, and most stores have a sign at the register the explains their return policy.

However, I also think that no one is going to attempt to return a "dusty old VCR," since no one sells VCRs anymore. I think these stores have more money than God, and they should remember that without you, there is no store.

I long for the good old days of independent, neighborhood retailers who knew you and valued you as a customer.

I mean, really, to haggle with someone over a lousy $18? Gawd, does money have to control EVERYTHING??!!

Guest

The store gives you 90 days to return something that is very fair, stores also dont like dealing with unreasonable customers. But with customer service you will allways deal with some unhappy people so go on with your day and dont let it bother you

Guest

Previously NARC YOU OUT - Target's defenders are so proud of their positions that they resort to lies and theft to get their point across. I have become aware that someone is posting as Narc you out and posting lies about my position with Target.

As of 9/2/11 I will no longer post as Narc you out, but will remain anonymous, much like the little coward who hides behind the secrecy of the internet to post lies without being held responsible. Let me be clear as I sign off as Narc you out, it is my mission to expose Target as being involved in criminal activities.

Target should have been prosecuted for the experience I had in dealing with them. As for the people who blatently defend Target on PissedConsumer.com, it surely makes one wonder, what will Target resort to trying to get money out of our pockets and being held to no responsibility for it, and why do these people defend them so adamently?

Guest

Y not do a no receipt return with your drivers licence. Up to 70 dollars a year. Working for target I know there are two sides to every story.

Guest

Wow @ Narc you out

Seems to be a true Target hater...

Seriously the reason why stores have return policies, is because of thieves and people trying to game them. There are people who will try to return old dusty VCRs like they bought them last week... If you have a receipt and within the return period, you have no reason to complain. Besides, you can't hold on to a piece of paper for 90 days? Good luck finding your birth certificate.

Guest

Dear Morgan, What a wonderful comment. Thanks so much for your input and info.

I don't know where any of these other complaints originate but we are able to take our purchases back to stores here without interrogation or accusation, and many, many times without a receipt. There are so many other stores eager to have customers in today's economy, it's easy to find a replacement store for Target.

Again, thanks for your input. Kohl's will certainly be on my shopping list, and I will pass the word on your behalf!

Guest

I just wanted to let everyone know that kohls has an amazing return policy and there is no limit of how long you can return it. I work at kohls near by and we allow you to return an item that is 4 years old!

NO JOKE! although i have heard we are the nicest kohls around! so please do not say something you do not know!

okay thanks and if you have troubles with purchases there bring up our YES WE CAN policy then they will for you! just an FYI

Steven S Sqa

Sorry but Walmart and Kohls have similar return policies and if you don't bring back items before their return dates they also will not "work" with you.

Guest

Narc you out, are her mother. This would explain why your little nine year old thinks the rules don't apply to her.

This child needs to follow rules. I am sure at one point their rules were more relaxed your little nine year old would have no problem returning her Barbie Tshirt, however like everyone else your child has to follow rules.

Teach her to be more responsible instead of making excuses for her. It is because of you and your little girl that these companies need to be tough with their policies.

Guest

Well perhaps if you asked mommy or daddy to hold on to your receipt you would not have lost it before their 90 day return policy. Your own fault for losing it.

Grow up. I don't blame you for your behavior however since you are likely only nine years old.

I blame your parents. Probably taught you that you an always get what you want and always caved in to your temper tantrums.

DRUGGIE EMPLOYEES

i know for a FACT that most of those target YOUNG employees do drugs. we party all the time and how do they get hired and i dont. NOT fair. they are also engaged in sexual contact in secret places. lori romano is one of them along with the others she speaks with. i was a guest there and she gets into details about her sexual partners while im waiting in line at guest service. she has her fat belly sticking from outside of her shirt and dressed inappropriately. she is very rude and slow. not everyone wants to wait in like for that long.

First of all, ALL Target employees go through drug screening before they are hired.

Second of all, if you "party" with them all of the time, stop your hypocrisy right here and now. You are not qualified to work.

Third of all, how dare you list someone's name on a website. That right there is slander and is just plain wrong.

Finally, who gives a flying *** what she looks like. She was hired, you were not. Probably because of your rotten attitude.

Grow up.

The Worst Customer Service I have EVER encountered

I tried on an item in the Target store (a bedroom slipper) and it fit, but I wanted another color so I went online to Target and ordered it there. When it arrived (it took weeks), though there was NO SIZE marked on it, it was obviously too small as it didn't fit. There was also no size indicated on the shipping slip. but it was clear they sent the wrong one. There was NO PHONE NUMBER on the shipping slip to call so I had to go online to find it, which was annoying. You can't believe how bad their phone customer service is. Target uses a call center operated from outside the US and the person I spoke to barely understood English. When I asked if I could return the item to the store, the person told me "no." I cannot believe this. I actually think that must be wrong and am going to try and return it. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT TARGET ONLINE AGAIN. NEVER.

I too had the worst experience ever but mine was in-store. There is absolutely no reason to treat paying customers so badly, but they continue to do so.

Learning the system at Target, should I ever need something that only Target sells, I intend to work within their policies. The best way to beat a system to is work within it.

Oh - and how I intend to work within their system. (That is assuming I find myself in the most untenable position of having to deal with them again ever).

The Worst Customer Service

I usually like Target but I made the mistake of going to Target in Midtown Miami. What a mistake! The sales professionals - I use "professional" loosely because they were paid - were the worse. From the ladies in the rear of the store who were more interested in discussing their weekend dates in very graphic terms to the manager, Anne, who tried to resolve my issue by stopping just short of treating me like homeless people who frequent the area. Anne did me a huge favor. I can save money because I plan to never to shop at Target again and I put back the more than $100 worth of items I should never have bought in the first place. Thanks Target for hiring Anne and thanks Anne for saving me money. Managers like you are great for customer; for your business - not so much.

Target - Poor order process & poor customer service..I

Updated by user Oct 27, 2011

This is a followup to my previous complaint. TArget has hit my credit card with two..

not one.. but two charges for mechandise I cancelled and returned to them. I am in a big dispute about it. Ironically enough, TArget gave me a UPS tracking code for the returned merchandise..

which they received.. but still proceeded to charge my credit card. I have been on the phone with Target (non)Customer service numerous times. I gave up and will let American Express handle it.

I am SO done with Target. Absolutely pitiful service!

Original review Sep 26, 2011
I placed an online order from Target on 9.16.11. Supposed to be free shipping). Initially I was charged for shipping. Called customer service 3 times..On hold for hours.. FINALLY got charge reversed. Orginal del. date was 9.23.11... that was OK.. Got an e-mail on the 18th saying shipment would be delayed until Oct. 4 or later. That didn't work for me I called customer srv. another 3 times.. Each time said the order could not be cancelled because it had already gone to their Fulfillment Center. Whats to fulfill.. They didn't have the item. An absolutely ridiculous system. I could not cancel an order that was going to be delivered 2 weeks from now.. Horrible customer service... I will never order from Target again.. EVER!!!

Watch what you say around customers!

My complaint is rather neutral, I've worked in retail for years so I know no one is perfect and we just have to be careful about where and what we say on the sales floor. I visited the City Line store several times and noticed the employee's conversating about the night they had, filing for full custody of a child, the fight they had with another employee to just name a few. Instead of acknowledging me and asking, "Did I find what I needed," I'm always ignored, and never asked for assistance, but I have to hear conversations. If I can say one thing about City Line is that employee's need to be aware of the customer and leave the home life off the sales floor, save it for lunch time or off the clock!!!!

Complaints like this make this website seem less and less credible each time I read one like this.

sohurt

The best thing to do is talk to management.

I'm sure that management would talk to them.

If they are standing around talking, then they are not doing their job.

The customer comes first.

Guest

Father of Triplets,

It is not your call what they "should" and "shouldn't" be talking about.

That is their choice.

If you don't like it, handle the situation in the store where someone can do something about it. Nobody on here is gonna talk to them for you.

Guest

Putting a complaint on here is a waste of time!

Guest

If it bothers you so much, tell a manager.

Most people aren't aware of this right now, but it's seasonal employment time. If you've worked in retail you'll know this.

This means most of the people there aren't necessarily the "cream of the crop" and believe it or not the managers want to know this.

If someone has multiple complaints, they wont be kept past seasonal employment and you wont have to listen to their conversations anymore.

Either way putting the complaint on here rather than doing something productive with it is kind of a waste of time.
