Target in Staten Island double charges and doesn't care

Went to the Target in Staten Island and was charged twice for an item that is $14.99 + tax. Unfortunately for me, I realized this after I got home and I contacted Corporate thinking they would resolve but I received a canned response that the matter will be reported to "Leadership". So, what does that mean? I still didn't get refunded for the double charge. I suggested they can refund me via a gift card and they completely ignored my request and didn't even offer another resolution. It will be a long time before I return to Target. I guess they need the $15 more than me. Buyer Beware: check your receipt before you leave the store; don't trust that the cashier has done their job correctly.

Target.com has not refunded my money, it's been over 2 months

I purchased a dinette set in early November from Target.com using my REDcard and a gift card. The table arrived with the glass top completely shatterd, and the iron table and chairs were rusted and dented.

The color was advertised as black, it arrived grey. The cushions were advertised as grey, they arrived brown. I contacted Target.com immediately and they informed me to get rid of the broken items so I wouldn't be hurt trying to return shattered glass and that I would be refunded in 10 days. I received an email with the return confirmation and refund confirmation.

I received a gift card in the mail for the gift card portion about a month later. I waited patiently for the credit card refund (thinking it may have been because of the billing cycles). At the end of December, I called Target.com again inquiring why the refund hadn't posted yet. They informed me that it was never processed and assured me it was now processed and would be complete within 10 days.

It's now been over 3 weeks and I have yet to receive the credit on my redcard. I spent 2 hours on the phone with Target.com and Target REDcard today and still have no refund. The customer service has been TERRIBLE. Target.com claims that they processed the refund back in November and that it is not their fault I haven't received the refund.

Target REDcard stated that there has been no refund of the order and that Target.com is responsible for issuing the refund to the card. I have been passed back and forth between the two and spoke with several supervisors, all whom keep passing me back and forth claiming it's not their problem. I am very unhappy with Target.com, Target REDcard and the customer service I have received. This was my first online shopping experience with Target.com and comparing it to Walmart.com.

I will definitely spend my money at Walmart.com in the future. Their online ordering process was very organized and I received great customer service. Walmart is a little farther from where I live, but it's worth the drive.

I can't never thought I'd shop Walmart over Target, but I have the last couple months and I must say I have been much happier with Walmart.

Isn't that the exact point, Kendra? When you shop at any other retailer, they make your purchase good.

When you shop at Target, not only do they give you a hard time, they blame you for trying to scam them. It doesn't matter what the problem is, Target blames the customer. On this site, the posters call you horrible names like scammer and thief trying to rip off places like Target. It doesn't matter what the consumer does, Target blames you, THE CUSTOMER.

That's why when you shop there, you are the one wearing a Target on your body. It not only sounds like they are blaming you, it sounds like they have moved thier Target from your backside to your forehead. No matter what you present on this site, these refuters will say it is your fault. Everyone else knows whose fault it really is - The Target Corporation themselves.

I hope they have a massive layoff at the top and get all new officers in and clean that place up. They can't get away with blaming the customer forever.

If you will read all the other postings on the Target search, you will see that Target treats everyone the same - stealing from you, the customer and blaming you for their theft. Enough of us have had it with Target and quit shopping there.

I hope you are one of those people, too, and that you get the word out to everyone you know, Target steals your money and blames you for the problem!! :(

I had the same problem. I ordered online in November, immediately returned the item to the store, now its January -still no refund.

:sigh

I'm surprised because I usually get good service in the store. It's like the online store is run by a bunch of monkeys like those commercials.

Purchases

Hi, I went to Target in East Saint Cloud MN. I tried to buy an IPad. They were so busy goofing off I couldn't get help to purchase one. They have the shitiest customer service that I have ever seen. I refuse to go to target ever again. I am glad that target is looking at mini stores, no one wants to go to these *** fests anymore. Target back in the day was a really great store, now they are totally classless, if you complain you get harassed. I cannot wait for target to go out of business, I am glad there employees are that ***.

Target does not honor service plans

I bought an ipod from Target with a 3 year service plan. I began getting a white screen on the ipod so I sent it in for repair. They have refused to repair it or replace it stating impact damage. The ipod has never been dropped or even carried around it has sat on a player dock only. I believe Target simply refuses to honor their service plans, period. When I asked to get my money back on the service plan they stated I will still be charged the 1 1/2 years! So now I have a $399 ipod that doesn't work and a 45 dollar service plan that is a complete rip off.

Your 3-year plan began from day 1 and covered only electrical and electronic failure. IF you look at the brochure you were given, there is NO mention of any damage, physical or liquid, coverage.

Yup, waste of money. 3rd party, NEW Customer Service, is anything but.

Contact the BBB and your state's dept of consumer affairs.

If there truly is no damage, not covering it is fraud. You'll get action.

Target does not make the decision about it being fixed or not. They hire a third party and pay a set amount for a year of service.

That company decided not to fix it to save on money and increase profits.

False advertisement /// rude employee

i went into target today (2-20-12) in blue ash, ohio to get something to eat at the pizza hut express. After I ordered, the price that was posted was not the price that i was charged. When I asked about it, I was told that the price was changed. I asked why it still said one price and I was to pay more, she said that's what the register says. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and an off duty employee walked up and told her to give me the lower price, which was good until I asked what they were going to do for the future customers. The off duty employee said "if they don't complain. Nothing" I found this very offensive. I work hard for my money as many of us do. So, when she said that I got very upset, asked again to speak to a manager. A manager finally showed up after I raised my voice. He said that they were not allowed to take down the old sign. I suggested that they just change the price on the poster since, in the words of his employee, if the next person doesn't notice then they won't change the price. When I said that, the off duty employee started yelling at me. I suggested to her to leave since she wasn't on the clock. She then told me that I couldn't tell her what to do and she was going to call the police on me. Now, I don't know, but theft is theft. Target was charging more than posted to who knows how many people. Add up fifty cents per transaction and you get grand theft.

Here in LA two women were getting into a fight. In retalation one lady pushed the other' lady's cart into the shelf. The lady had her baby in the cart. The mother went crazy and started hitting the other lady.

The manager took her side and told her if someone harmed his child or did something to his child he would not have done the same thing. It does not surprise me that there are cowards out there such as the OP and the freak in your response that go picking on women and children when they want their way.

I would like to think that this is fake, but at the Walmart I worked at a man got into an argument with this lady who had a son with her. The boy must have been about nine. The man was trying to trick the store and scam. She should not have interfered in the customer employee issue but she stood up for our employee because she saw him trying to scam and cheat. The man turned around and told her to mind her own business or she would drag he son in the men's washroom and rape and molest him. He was arrested outside the store and pretended he did not know English.(which he does if he does not want to follow rules.)

The manager asked her to leave. Then I went outside to follow her and he asked me to stay. I had no intend to harm her. I just wanted to intimidate her by asking if I can play with her eight year son when I found out she had a son .(I know her I see her often she lives not far from me.) She accused me of trying to get sexual.

I only said play. Funny how this sick woman took it. I knew she would take it as a sexual reference so that is why I said it to intimidate her.

The truth is I have no interest in her son. She started it first and I just wanted to show her who is in charge and that she cannot push me around.

Target.com ** BUYERS BEWARE **

If you're buying at Target.com and want the benefit of a refund - DON'T USE PAYPAL. I ordered a featherbed from them and paid with PayPal. I was shocked to find feathers flying all over the place when I opened the box. Even though I received defective merchandise, Target.com would only give me a gift card - NO REFUND. What kind of business refuses to give a refund for defective merchandise? That's the last time Target will see me purchasing anything from them - online or otherwise. There are so many other great places to buy, with excellent customer service, so don't bother.

Thanks for the warning. People out there everywhere need to know the tactics Target and Target on-line uses in their sales practices.

For all the support and warranty they provide, we would be better served buying from a street vendor.

At least there we know it's "buyer beware".

Target only offers a gift card on returns if you purchased with PayPal. This is clearly stated in their online return policy which I'm sure you were smart enough to read before your purchase.

TARGETS PAYPAL POLICIES!!!!

I ordered from Target online a Fischer Price Ford Mustang for my granddaughters birthday March 18th, 2012 based on the store availability and specific delivery date of 3/21 -3/24 . I called after receiving an email 3/19 the order had shipment and received a tracking for UPS but Mon,Tues,Wen it only showed a label had been created. On Thursday I received another order that the toy had been shipped and the deliver date had been changed to 3/24-3/27 completely unacceptable. I called Target and got excuse after excuse and they offered to refund the shipping charges.n I explained I would not wait until 3/27 that if I didn't have it as promised I wanted the order cancelled. They refused stating I had 30 minutes to cancel on 3/18 that i would have to refuse the delivery and they would refund when they received the merchandise back Today written verification they had the merchandise its 4/3/2012 and was informed because I paid with my Paypal debit card they would only refund with a gift card!##@$ They have stolen $353.00 from me holding me ransom to shop and spend my gift card in their stores. [B]People read whats happened here, Google Target and Refunds....[/B] There are plenty of other stores to purchase from to avoide these corporate criminals. you're right IHateStupidCustomers, He sure was *** to order something from your website and expect it to arrive within a three day window they estimated it to be within. Everyone knows that a three day window is just too much pressure and people should really expect it within a week or so of the last day of the window.

After all, the website can only guess weather or not their employees will be competent enough to actually complete the order on time.

It isn't the website's fault, it isn't magic, it just makes random guesses based on theory.

I ordered items on March 14, waited until my ordered showed up 12 days later and called to ask that the three of the items I ordered that were missing be resent and was told I would have to go back online order items and pay for shipping although my original order was eligible for free shipping. Then call them back after and ask for credit for shipping.

Are you kidding me, why would I bother wasting more of my time! I asked for a credit on my Amex thru PayPal and was given a reference number and was told by Target representative 5-7 business days I would see a credit on my Amex. I kept checking my Amex account and still no credit 26 days after I called! Called Target 3 seperate times and on last 1 hour phone conversation got disconnected from original person whom I was talking with and had to go through all the info AGAIN!!!

After speaking with supervisor she stated Target misrepresented that they could credit my Amex and that it was in their notes what I was told and she was very sorry but Target gift card was all they could issue. Unbelievable!! I have wasted over 3 hours of my time with this awful company and they think Im going to buy anything else from them, *** no. I am filing dispute with Amex!

Buyers Beware and find someplace else!! LandsEnd has great customer service and clothes!!

Target is awful

I recently went into a Target to exchange a duvet cover, new in the package, which was their brand, and they were so rude and unhelpful that I have not been in their store since. It was a gift and I received the wrong color..BIG deal, right? Oh no, we can't help you at all. Waste of my time and I left the cover outside the store for someone to take......their corporate phone center is a crock and they don't care about your happiness once they have your money, that's fine since I vote with my wallet.

Horrible return policy

I recently visited target and was told I could only return up to $70 worth of purchases. My purchase total was &85. I received multiple presents for my birthday and had to make some returns. Perhaps if you read the fine print on the back of your receipt regarding return policies you wouldn't have to worry about rude customer service. You're just a customer.

Their return policy is not "horrible." It is completely reasonable. Just ask your family to get you gift receipts next time. Really not that big of an issue.

Next time ask your friends and family to be considerate enough to give you a gift receipt. Just tell them there is a good chance you will return whatever they get you.

A complaint about a store refusing to return items without a receipt is completely invalid. Your complaint should be about the people who bought you the presents.

Couldn't fulfill three orders including an eGift!

I ordered a gift to be sent to a friend, with expedited shipping. Received message the gift would arrive two days late. Received another message afterwards that it would be the end of the month or beginning of next month before item would arrive. Cancelled order. Then ordered an eGift card instead. Received email that recipient would get w/in four hours. Received another message immediately afterward that it would be two days before it could be shipped!!! Called help line. Was told perhaps would be sent in time. Although email said four hours, may take 24 to 48 hours.

IHateStupidCustomers obviously trolls this site looking to attack people with legitimate concerns about an *** company. It made sense to me.

Target's online service is trash. It doesn't do what it say's it will do, and they will charge you money when it doesn't.

Tell you what, IHateStupidCustomers, I hate *** Target employees. If that includes you, maybe you should try to fix a terrible service before you try to blame the customer.

The on line shopping site is pathetic.

In my quest to get two wedding present bought I went to the Target web site. I do most of my shopping on line these days & thought it would be quick and easy. Was constantly knock off & redirected. Even though I was registered, I was asked continuely to register. When I went to "contact us" I was also redirected, as if they didn't want to hear what I had to say. Even the "help" icon was joke. I just wonder how in 2012, you make a user friendly web-site. Target you've lost another customer, and I will tell everyone I know. Sheila

I have never had the misfortune of using Target's web site. After my experience with their bricks and mortor store, it convinced me to never deal with them on any level, and I am glad from reading your posting that I didn't have your experience.

I, too, will tell everyone I know how terrible Target is and warn them to stay away from those stores.

Thanks for your warning. I hope it deters many, many people from dealing with them on any serious terms because once you give them your money, happy or not, you're on your own!!

Target shipping issues.. will never use them again!

Last week, I purchased 7 items from target.com and chose standard shipping. Well, Target split my orders into two deliveries. The first delivery, which contains 5 items, were shipped out on 3/26/12 and will actually arrive tomorrow on 3/29/12. The other two items have not even shipped yet, it only says that a shipping label has been created. I never received an email stating my items were on backorder, or delayed so I am confused as to why I made the order on the same day, yet some of the items have not been delivered. I have called their customer service number many times, and they say that all of the items have been shipped. I explained that it is not true because UPS cannot track the item unless picked up by the carrier. Target kept saying that all items have been picked up and delivered. I then spoke to someone else, and was told that the other items have not been delivered and will not be for another week or so. I needed those items for a birthday gift this week. I will never use target.com for purchase again.

Don't Buy A Cell Phone From Target.com

DO NOT buy a phone from Target.com!!!! I can not begin to express my frustration!! Ordered online on March 29th and received the phone on April 3rd. Phone was defective and shut off all the time. Called several times and tried to trouble shoot. Took the phone into Target but they could do nothing as it is a "different company". I could go on and on..... Finally, they agreed to take the phone back but said they wouldn't credit me for the car charger because it was damaged. Damaged meant that it wasn't returned in the plastic bag in came in!! All I can say is DO NOT BUY A PHONE FROM TARGET.COM!!!!!

Rude cashier

went to kenosha target store, picked up a duffle bag marked clearance. when i got to the check-out ( express lane ) the cashier told me 26.

dollars, i said look at the ticket which said 17 dollars + change. the cashier was obviously upset. she said that was the wrong ticket and not for the duffel bag, i told her i didn't want it she peeled the ticket off, and put it back on the floor behind her. i told her that there was another smaller bag clearance also cheaper to which i got no reply.

was she saying i changed the ticket ? why wouldn't she check with another employee to get to the bottom of the problem.

just goes to show some people just put their time in. well other stores are more helpful, courteous , and cheaper .
