TV waranty

I purchased a tv from target with a protect plan for two years. The associate states that this plan covers any damage to the tv including dropage.

Well here it is six months went by and TV broke and would you believe it they dont cover it. Target offered me 10 percent off a TV to resolve issue. I asked to talk thier customer support center and was told they will tell you the same thing it does not matter wow thats services.

Any way called and waiting for a supervisor to call me back. will uopdate but beware of whats told and what the small print says shame on target to sell a plan this way.

They have refused to address issue

Who you trying to fool you know there nothing to sign just lies and a pamplet just on your break

Guest

You stated yourself 'beware of what's told & what the small print says' leading me to believe that you signed something without fully reading what you signed. Now, grant it,Target shouldn't have verbally lied about what was & what wasn't covered in there warranty plan.

However, written contracts always trump verbal agreement & it's always the customer's responsibility to throughly read EVERYTHING before signing. Just to let it be known I do not work for Target

Guest

Forget target they refuse to do anything

Target refuses to address issue of selling a plan under false pretense all they say is plan does not cover damage must be a commission on the sale of plan I will not even by a eraser from target again

If you don't already work for target you should

You liar! Your story is a bunch of bull.

You dropped your tv and you don't want to take responsibility.

Bwahahaha! You should have taken their offer of 10%.

Target - Cashier Review from San Clemente, California

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Tonight we went to Target in San Clemente,Ca. Sent by the courteous staff at the Aliso Viejo, CA store. They were nice enough to give us outstanding customer service for a $5.00 item that we bought 2 of at their store and needed 2 more. They checked for in stock of the white sheers at the San Clemente Store & they had the 2 we needed. We raced down to the San Clemente store & got there @ 9:55pm. Ran directly to the curtain area, trying to locate the white sheers, yes I knew they were closing (( I'm not ***, I've been in retail upper management for 30+ years so I know better than to walk in at last minute, but in my defense, I knew what I wanted & was an in & out stop )) at 10:00 sharp a heavy set older associate blurted out: WE ARE CLOSED NOW & YOU'LL HAVE TO LEAVE!!! I explained, my situation & what I was looking for & again says well you'll have to leave because the store is closed & so are the check stands. I asked her to help me then so I could leave & she RUDELY SAYS: IVE ALREADY CALLED A MANAGER TO HELP YOU! She just stood there w/ her Wilkie talkie & never budged to help us. We are aimlessly looking for these 2 *** white sheer & the tall thin night mgr came to my rescue, so I thought! The lady says to him, I've asked them to leave & told him we were closed. I'm dumbfounded by then by the lack of even getting poor customer service. I say to both of them, still keeping my composure because my 12 yr old niece was w/me, the A.V. Store sent us here & we got here b4 closing, & all I needed was help from either one of them, and he tells me, WELL IM GOING TO HAVE TO ASK YOU TO LEAVE. OUR CHECKSTANDS ARE CLOSED NOW. YOULL NEED TO COME BACK TOMORROW & SHOP !!! WE WERE ESCORTED IUT IF THE STORE RIGHT PAST THE VERY POLITE CASHIER, STILL OPEN FOR BUSINESS & even asked if we were ready to check out. Hmmm now I knew when the heavy set rude associate said the registers lock up at 10pm sharp was a line of ***. I apologize for my description of the employees, we were rushed out so quickly that I did not get their name. We spent over $200.00 at the A.V. Store 30 minute prior. Thousands & thousands of dollars a year. I promise you, I will never step foot in another TARGET again. I'm sure it's nothing to them but it's the principle now.

Target - Coat Review from Richfield, Minnesota
Target - Coat Review from Richfield, Minnesota - Image 2
Target - Coat Review from Richfield, Minnesota - Image 3

I was walking through the produce section with a long north face coat when I felt a pull and heard a rip. The end cap of a table was missing so there was sharp plastic sticking out that snagged and ripped my coat.

I went to customer service, filed a report and have been dealing with target's insurance company for about a month now. The manager of target said they were previously aware of the damaged table and it was on a list to fix. He mentioned they were lucky it was a coat and not a little kid's finger or head. The end cap is still not fixed and I take a new picture of it every week I'm at target.

The insurance company refuses to give me the full amount of money to replace the coat saying it is a year old, even though I can not buy a year old replacement coat or I gladly would! They said I "cannot come out ahead of where I began" on this issue. Exact wording. Target is willing to lose a customer that spends about $250 a week at MINIMUM (not during holidays, birthdays, back to school shopping etc!) over $289!

Since the incident has happened I have spent around $1000 at target between groceries, new clothes for kids and birthday presents. This will be coming to a screeching halt forever if they don't fix this. I have a rainbow foods, malls, Walmart, Home Depot, and Walgeens just as close to me. I even offered to take a target gift card for the $289 and to give them my ripped coat so they know I will be replacing it.

I am on my 3rd person at the insurance company. The second person was quite rude and condescending and offered me about $5 more than the 1st person which still leaves over $100 off the price of the coat! The 3rd person is on vacation for a week now. I think they are just waiting for me to give up.

I find it extremely hard to believe that someone high up at Target would want one of their customers to feel this frustrated over something the manager and the insurance company are both admitting was their fault. No wonder target is in the place they are in-failing in Canada, letting go of loads of employees, and dealing with credit card issues! It doesn't feel like they care about their customers.

I will not be shopping at target until this is resolved. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, that they would want to make this right, but I can see that might not happen now.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't watch where you're going and you run into things. If a shelf fell onto you, you'd have a case, but this is just ***, you can catch a zipper on anything, accept the consequences of your carelessness and leave target alone.

Quanasia Fbj

There is no way your jacket could have been ripped from the endcap on the picture. Sounds to me like you ripped your own jacket and want them to pay for a new one.

Get a job and get a new jacket yourself with the money you earn. They should not have to fork over the bill.

MattD78

Insurance isn't there to replace your coat. Insurance is for (legitimate) falls and personal injury, not your coat that got caught on a table.

Accidents happen.

Chalk it up to bad luck and move on. Frankly be happy they offered you anything, they should have said "tough luck" and hung up.

Guest

I would "post" your experiences on their facebook page, they usually respond better when the world is watching! Good Luck

Had the worst experience with target. Made my first purchase on 05/31 for around $30.00 (with a 10% off promo code), which allowed me to have free shipping. When all of my items arrived, one item was defective and was unable to be used, and another item was the wrong color. I immediately called Target to let them know of the two problems I had with my order. Not once was I told " I apologize you did not receive the correct items in new condition." I went on to explain the situation. I was then told by the agent, that I needed to return the lamp to a target store and wait about 10 business days to reorder my lamp because they had to contact the warehouse to see if the warehouse put the blue lamp in the yellow lamps spot. He was unsure if it was a picking error, or a slotting error. I waiting until today, to place a new order. I contacted live chat and asked them if the issue had been resolved so I can place a new order. The response I got was " I would place the order again, and hopefully you get the correct item." I didnt even know that was an acceptable response. I then asked the agent if the item was in stock, and he told me it was. My second question was "Am I going to receive free shipping on my order since it was on my original order and the wrong item was sent to me?". He stated he would waive the shipping. When I went to go place my order, the item was NOT in stock, and was $13.04 than I originally paid. I had also told the agent this, and he said he would adjust it. I ended up buying the SAME exact lamp (except this one I just purchased did not come with a light bulb. no biggie) I gave the agent my order number and he then proceeded to tell me that he was going to give me a gift card of $19.72. No where in our conversation did he state that the refund would go on to a gift card when I had just paid with a VISA. I told him, hat is not acceptable and why would I get a gift card if my original payment is a credit card? He tried to tell me I could use the GC whenever I wanted. When processing a refund, the refund must go back on to the original payment form, you don't get to choose. If I had paid with a gift card, I would be happy to receive a gift card back. He finally said he would refund the cost of the difference to my card. I received an email saying my order total was $11.51.. which I knew was wrong. The lamp cost was $9.78 with a 10% discount that comes to $8.80 + tax = $9.33 The amount of $9.33 should have been charged to my card and not $11.51. I reviewed the receipt and found out they charged me 6% sales tax on the original cost of the item ($21.84), and not on the cost I originally paid ($8.80). Again I needed to contact Live Chat support. I swear both the phone agents and live chat agents dont even look at customers orders OR listen to what their customer has to say. He responded with "Yes, the order is $11.51." I then broke down the math so even the simplest of minds can understand. He knew I was beyond frustrated with the company and said "As a one time exception I will refund the difference." Oh geeze, thanks. You originally made the mistake, then tried to charge me the full amount, then tried to refund the difference onto a GC, then charged me the wrong sales tax on the item. I am forever grateful. I will never ever be shopping with this company ever again. At my job, we give out $10 target gift cards for employees who go above and beyond in customer service. I will be meeting with the owner and HR department tomorrow to get these gift cards switched over to WalMart. As my employees should not have to deal with a company that misrepresents themselves, and should not have to go threw a headache for the correct items.

You are not even old enough to use a credit card. I hope your parents are not too hard on you when they found out you stole their credit card and I hope you apologize to them instead of being a hypocrite and not apologizing.

Beware Target Exchange Policy.

No complaints about the stores, the merchandise, or most of the employees--all what a reasonable person would expect. My bad experience is related to a small item I ordered online; it was delivered with another item, which was intact, like the shipping box. The box containing the other item had been opened, and a critical component was missing. Most plausible explanation: someone at Target opened the box, and the employee packing my order packed it anyway. I thought I'd resolved the issue via online chat; Target emailed a shipping label and an exchange authorization. I had the original item shipped back to Indianapolis the next day; now I find it's going to take three weeks to get the replacement to me. I tried to cancel the exchange and got an automatic no. Another online chat got me nothing better: "You can't cancel and get your money back." I responded that as soon as the replacement arrives I'm returning it. Target's response was "fine." The bottom line here is that quality control failed to prevent shipping impaired merchandise, and rigid corporate bureaucracy prevented timely correction of Target's failure.

Pharmacy Complaint

I was patiently waiting on my doctor to call in my prescription the pharmacist said they never received the prescription. The medication is needed and I do not have any to carry me over. I asked the pharmacist for a loan on the refill. This has been done before and it is not a controlled substance. In fact it was offered to me on another occasion because the pharmacist had not received the refill. It was only for three pills. I was told that the pharmacist on duty did not feel comfortable giving me the loan when this was a suggestion given by another pharmacist on another occasion. If it had not been done before that would be one thing, however it has and I need my medication!

Alcohol Sales

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I go to Wheelock College right near Target. So I went into City Target in Boston by Fenway and bought some electronics and grabbed a 6 pack as well.

I am 21 years of age and from Connecticut and have sold to me plenty of times before with no question they scan my ID and put my birthday in and I go on my way. But this time I went in The manager asks for my ID and says they can only accept out of state ID's if I have my passport on me. I have 3 other forms of ID but not my passport its in Connecticut and no one usually carries their passport with them any way. The manager denies my purchase of alcohol and I could not buy it.

I go in there pretty Frequently for alcohol any way because its the closest liquor store to my school.

The manager was very rude and refused my sale of my 6 pack never going there again.

Same thing happened to me except i was chill about it and they let me purchase the six pack with out of state ID. It was still an annoying wait so I will never shop at target again for discriminating against me.

Quanasia Fbj

You may be 21 but when you act as if you are five years old they have right to refuse to sever to you. Refusing to sell you alcohol is not the same as being rude.

Guest

Merchants have the right to refuse service for whatever reason they want, It doesn't matter if you've purchased beer there before or not :( I was once refused service because, even though I'm 24 and out with my 50 year old parents, my license is vertical. Liquor laws in Massachusetts are awful.

Incompetent customer service staff

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
My wallet was stolen together with some of the target gift cards. I happened to have kept one of the receipt of the gift card received from returning products back to Target. I immediately called target gift card customer service and the local Target store, all the people I talked to said they could' t track down the number of the gift card from the receipt. I decided to gave another try last Friday and chatted online with a person who happened to be the manager and he was able to pull the record of the gift card number based on the receipt. However, it was too late and the gift card was already spent by the person who stole my wallet and there is no way I could recover it back. The manager couldn't even pull the phone records of me calling. If the staff I talked to were competent, I could have recovered value of this card.

Did they say they couldn't or did they say they wouldn't? I haven't worked for Target for years but when I was a supervisor there they wouldn't even if they could.

Too much potential fraud there.

Quanasia Fbj

You were careless and had your wallet stolen due to that and you are calling them incompetent? Next time give your wallet to mommy and ask for it when you are ready to buy something.

When you finish buying what you want to buy give it to her for her safekeeping since you are the incompetent one and cannot take responsibility for your belongings.

I understand that you lost your wallet, and that can happen. What makes me suspect that you are a four year old child is you refuse to accept any responsibility for losing the wallet and blame Target for your carelessness.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE in Towson, MD

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I came to Target after work on Friday evening at 10:08pm 7/31/2015 to pick up a few items for my babies. I got into line and I was ready to pay. I was greeted with a VERY nasty, "hello." I promptly said hello back. I was then asked, "Do you know that this line is for 10 items or less?." I replied, "Yes." The cashier then said to me, "Well, it looks like you have a lot more than 10 items" in the same very NASTY tone. I had 12 items to be exact. The store was closing at 11:00pm, it was nearly empty, I was not holding up the line, and I was in a great mood until I came into contact with this cashier. She was a black, middle aged woman, with short to medium length hair, and dark brownskin in complexion with glasses. I have been shopping at this Target for a little over 5 years and I have NEVER been talked to with such rudeness. It is shame that people like this woman are working for this company. I am a hard working woman who had just gotten off of work that was tired. A little customer service would have been well appreciated. I was highly disappointed in her nasty attitude. I hope that this store will do better in the future or I will have to take my business somewhere else.

The fact that you saw fit to go into detail about the cashier's appearance takes credibility away from your actual complaint. It sounds like you were more offended by her race than anything else.

Furthermore you were the one breaking the rules, not the cashier.

You knew you had more than 10 items to begin with. Grow up!

Damaged Product. Horrible Customer Service.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a tool kit on 6/15/2015 for a friend's wedding. This gift on his registry was unavailable in any Target in our area and "could not be shipped" to any Target in our area so we purchased it online. We were out of town when it was delivered, but opened the package today and the handle was broken so we needed a replacement. The packing slip said it could either be returned in store or online and we have a Target right down the street, so we figured we'd return it at the store and have a new one sent out. The representative at the store said she could only give us a gift card for the same amount and we would have to repurchase it online. She said it was impossible for her to order a new one because Target's network in the store wasn't secure and to call Target.com. We called Target.com and spoke with a representative named "Ryan" (no last name or ID number) and he told us it would be 7-10 business days from the time they received the package back from us. This is not a viable option, because the wedding is on 7/12/2015 and we need to have it ready to give to them at the reception. More than that, we were not overly confident that it would be delivered without damage and therefore needed more of a buffer in case we had to go through this again. "Ryan" told me there was nothing that could be done, so I requested to speak with his supervisor. "Frank", a "manager" (no last name or ID number), then came on the line and told me that he could have the new one shipped out using Express Shipping which is apparently 3-5 business days and said they would have to wait until the package arrives in their warehouse before the new one could be shipped. So basically 7-10 business days... Again. Unacceptable. I asked him to get creative. Ship it to a store near us, we'll exchange there. He dismissed this idea although he didn't explain why. He then said he would have another prepped to ship immediately and that I could send the one I have back at my leisure. That would work. He said he would e-mail me confirmation and told me he had already processed the request. At this point I was skeptical because I HADN'T GIVEN THEM ANY INFORMATION. NO ORDER NUMBER. NO NAME. NO E-MAIL ADDRESS. NOTHING! I was never asked any of this information or prompted to give any of this information. He said the previous rep gave him the order number and that the request he processed was for an organizer. I HAVE NEVER PURCHASED AN ORGANIZER FROM TARGET! After having to confirm with him my order number 3 times for him to get it right I then decided to ask for his supervisor and apparently he doesn't have another customer facing supervisor. Working escalations in a call center myself, I'm aware that this is a tactic used frequently and after arguing with him for absolutely WAY too long decided to give up. So now, the order number was straightened but we still needed it to be sent to us via overnight shipping. Apparently Target doesn't believe in overnight shipping because we were told that the fastest shipping they had was 3-5 business days with absolutely no exceptions. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE! Any decent company would send a simple e-mail to their shipping department and get a package overnighted to keep a customer. All I wanted was a quick replacement and decent customer service and all I got was an argument with incompetent representatives of an apparently incompetent company.

Not only that, there is also the chance the distribution center did not have the item in stock. Now I'm addressing the OP.

No retail company has the power to deliver a product overnight to the store.

If the DC has the item available, it stays there until it can get onto an available shipment truck. Store employees can't just wave a magic wand to make you feel better.
