I recently made a trip out to Las Vegas with my two year old son to visit my cousin, whom I have not seen in over three years. On February 2, 2012 I arrived in Las Vegas at 13:15 and needed further supplies for my long stay with my family. I felt at home knowing I can walk into a Target as I was not familiar with the other big named stores in Las Vegas Smith's, Food 4 Less, Albertson's or Fresh and Easy Neighborhood Market and know I can find the brands and service that I rely on. At around 14:30 I walked into the Target store # 2592 and looked for diapers for my son size 6 and saw the jumbo box and thought what a great deal $13.97 for 60 diapers-great! I also saw a good deal on sippy cups from $2.00 so I picked one up. Then I thought how I wanted to pick up a little something for my cousins children and to my convenience this Target had NB BRNMS Animal Cookies on an end cap for a $1".00 grabbed three boxes- wow perfect for the kids/. I then looked to cash out at the shortest line because I had my cousin waiting in the parking lot with my two year old and her five year old in her Caravan?. I approached operator #00004024 TE # 16 around 14:40/45 and waited with one elderly woman in front of me who had her merchandise packaged in her own bags on the belt to take then out in order for Valerie the cashier to scan the items;. No problem, it would only be a matter of minutes before I was reunited with my family:. The elderly woman finishes her transaction by paying with her card and had to swipe it two times before it was accepted as processed". MY turn, I exchanged a few words with Valerie she seemed to be alert at the moment and aware of what I thought were her surroundings, her cash wrap, her office if it where one:. Valerie scans my diapers, then animal crackers and then my sippy cup|. Total then came out to $19.26. I immediately thought to myself and out loud-"the sippy cups are advertised at $2.00?" At the moment, since I had just arrived and headed straight to Target I only carried $18.00 cash and my EBT card. I thought not to worry I can give Valerie the $18.00 cash and place the cookies on my EBT!. The time is around 14:50 to 14:58 I placed the cash of $18..00 on the ledge of the card key pad to free my hands and obtain my wallet for the additional funds to go on my EBT card/. When I picked my head back up MY MONEY WAS GONE!!!!! I immediately asked Valerie and the woman waiting behind me where did the money go? The woman behind me replied faster then Valerie with I did not see you with any money;. Valerie, whom I trusted with my service, integrity, merchandise and form of payment replied "Honestly, I didn't see you put down any money and I don't think i took it:." I asked for a manager, Regina came, I told her the story and to check the cameras/. It was the woman before who had come up the register and had CLEARLY grabbed the money?. NOTHING ELSE WAS DONE". No empathy, no questions or answers- my number was taken down- no calls 1292ec8

I posted this incident to raise awareness how certain employees at certain retailers have no idea what is going on around them to protect the companies name or the safety of the customers. I am a collage graduate, with exceptional references and I began my own business just so happens to be I was in slight need of support because my family practices vegetarianism and lets face it that can get costly. I am appalled by the ignorance of consumers on this site- I had hoped to do good then alter the mind of those less educated. This only occurred once, at Target, and no I do not gamble- read the article with a clear mind. By the way Target reviewed the video, brought this to the attention of their employees and gave my credit. (it is the site re-posting this event as if it had happened in other places not me

Maybe she really did not have the money. If everyone is right and she is making the same complaint for Walmart and everywhere else, maybe I hate dumb customers is right about the gambling money. She said she lost her house. Maybe she gambled so much that the bank evicted her. Maybe the $18 that she claimed she had she gambled away and wants it Target, Walmart and every other store to replace it because she has a gambling problem?

She posted the exact same complaint for four different companies if not more. She is just trying to get more money out of companies because EBT does not give her enough to go on vacation. Taxpayers are paying for her to feed her child but us customers are paying for her to go on vacation because she lies to try and get free money from companies and in turn they raise prices.

What I would like to know is did this happen at all. After all she claimed this happened at Target, as well as Walmart and Kmart.

I feel bad for you, not in a bad way, just bad that something like that happened. but you really shouldn't be pissed at Target, it was the fault of the b*tch before you that took your money. that just goes to show that you don't just leave money sitting there without looking at it. don't blame the store or the cashier, blame that i d i o t woman. and I kind of agree with the others, why are you on a trip to Las Vegas if you seem like you can't afford a lot? not saying you don't deserve to go there but what are you doing there? gambling?

First of all, I am not on vacation. I could not pay the rent so the government took away my house and I am currently living with my cousin. I have been kicked out of my parents house. I only have ONE child, I don not go around having children just for the heck of it. I cannot get a job because I made a mistake and dropped out six years ago. I am only 18 and so what if I lied about this whole thing. You don't know what it is like to be me with CPS saying they will take my child away if I don't find a stable home.

It's not my job to pay for your cookies or your trip to vegas. You lowlife. This taxpayer is fed up.

There was never any money in the first place. She had the exact same problem at "Walmart" as well. Even the manager and the cashier had the exact same first name, and the woman in front of her had children the exact same age.

However you have a point whether the money is real or not it is tax payers money. Maybe if she spent time looking for a job instead of filing a complaint this long she would not be wasting your money.

I also made a point about why did she fly to Vegas if she is on EBT, most likely because she is too lazy to get a job. How an she even afford to go to Vegas.

Not only that she is spending money on things that are not covered by EBT. Why is she having children in the first place if she cannot afford it. (Most likely to get money of the government per child). Why is she buying things for her nieces and nephews if she cannot even afford to feed her own child without tax payers money.

Also how does she have internet access if she cannot afford to feed herself, much less herself and her child.

Why are you pissed at Target?

Besides, it wasn't really your money anyway, it was the taxpayers. You have enough money to fly out to Vegas, but not to feed your own daughter. Apparently, you feel, that's my job.

And next time you want to make a *** complaint, don't write it in novel form.
